St. Peter’s Church in Redwood City, California is a parish that strives to respect and celebrate God’s gift of a wonderfully diverse people in our town and in the surrounding Bay Area. We have a rich history of more than 140 years in this place — going back to the very founding of Redwood City. Throughout the years as our town has changed, so has St. Peter’s. But in the spirit and tradition of the Episcopal Church, we have always sought to welcome all newcomers to join us on the journey of faith.
Today we are a modest-sized congregation of 150-200 faithful women, men, and children. We are from the Americas, Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Europe. We are single, married, and have life partners. We are raising children and living on our own. We are retired, working at home and in the workplace, and supporting each other as we strive to make ends meet in the busy lifestyle of the Peninsula and Silicon Valley.
