The reception of the Sacraments of the Church along with Prayer is a way of obtaining God's special gift of grace. The Catholic Church has seven sacraments that were declared at the Council of Trent. Four of these sacraments were instituted by Christ: Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Penance (Confession), Holy Orders. Two of the sacraments were administered by the apostles: Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick). The remaining sacrament, Matrimony, is found in scripture.
