Our mission at Stone Heritage, Inc. is to restore and utilize the Fordson/Red Robin Building Complex to revive the community of Stone and to preserve its culture and sense of place by:
Promoting and soliciting tourism;
Offering community educational opportunities;
Generating expansion opportunities for satellite locations of existing organizations and businesses;
Working with local entrepreneurs to encourage new business ventures; and
Working with county, state and federal agencies to improve the local environmental conditions and the infrastructure
Stone is the best remaining example of a once thriving coal company town in Pike County and in eastern Kentucky.
Stone Heritage is working to preserve and renew the historic three-building complex built and operated by the legendary Henry Ford. Preservation and reopening of these landmarks will save the community's cultural heritage and sense of place.
Currently, Stone Heritage has 600+ members who pay yearly dues to help support the group. Regular meetings consistently draw 30-50 people with guest speakers addressing topics of local interest to the community and to preservation efforts.
