Rosemary Conroy is a wildlife painter, freelance-writer and naturalist living on a small farm in Weare, NH. Trying to live a low-impact lifestyle, she maintains a studio on her property where she can study nature up-close. While gaining acclaim as a professional artist, Rosemary is also known for her work as co-host and writer for New Hampshire Public Radio’s weekly “Something Wild” nature spots.
Recent awards for her nature-writing include being named the New Hampshire Environmental Educator of the Year in the non-traditional category in 2005, and being given Antioch New England University’s very first Environmental Excellence Alumni Award in 2004. In 2006, Rosemary received one of the very first Artist Opportunity grants from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
Primarily a self-taught artist, Rosemary is a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association, the New Hampshire Chapter of the Women’s Caucus for the Arts, and the Oil Painters of America, as well as a member of East Colony Fine Art, an artist-run gallery in Manchester, NH. She is also represented by Expressions Gallery in Milford, NH.
