We Believe
- We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the final authority for all Christian faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21).
- We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:2; Matthew 28:19). We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the grave and ascended to heaven where he is our Advocate. One day Jesus will return to earth as victorious Lord (John 1:1; Colossians 1:16,17; Matthew 1:18-25; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:12; Acts 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:16).
- We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:7-11; John 3:3-5; Romans 8:9; John 14:26; Galatians 5:16,22). We believe people were created in the image of God but now are separated from God by sin. Faith in Jesus, based on his death and resurrection, is the only way for mankind to be reconciled to God. By God's grace, eternal life is available to everyone who embraces personal faith in Jesus Christ (Genesis 1:26,27; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; John 14:6; John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8,9; Galatians 2:16).
- We believe baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper are symbols of faith in Jesus Christ that are to be observed by the church (Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32). We believe the true church is composed of all people who have trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The church is identified locally by ministering congregations (1 Corinthians 12:12,13; Acts 15:23).
