About Us:
Sunnyside is the second largest elementary school in the District with about 460 students in 4K through fifth grade. Students who attend Sunnyside reside in rural homes and subdivisions located in the townships of Chase and Little Suamico.
Sunnyside is very community focused as it holds many events and fundraisers to assist our local and global communities. Each year, the school holds a Fall Festival event. Yearly, Sunnyside families donate to the CP telethon and American Heart Association. This year, they donated over $6,000 to CP and $1,500 AHA.
History:
Sunnyside was constructed in 1981 during a time when the District was rapidly growing. The school is located in Sobieski, which is very near to Little Suamico.
During the 1990s, the District saw an increase in students. In 1998, the District passed a referendum to build a new high school allowing the development of the Pulaski Community Middle School. Because of this, all of the elementary schools, including Sunnyside, became a K-5 school.
