By purchasing a share you will be entitled to a weekly portion of our harvest throughout the growing season. You will receive a wide variety of delicious and nutritious, farm fresh produce! Members pay at the beginning of the growing season and share both the rewards and risks of farming, such as ?bumper? crops or ?bummer? crops (due to pests or bad weather).How much produce will I get? Each week your share will contain between 6 and 18 lbs. of produce depending on crop availability. The overall average will be approximately 15 lbs. How long is the growing season? 20 weeks, from June to October (plus an end-of-the-season surplus pick-up).
Terra Firma Farm was created to operate as a working farm and educational academy for the communities of Southeast Connecticut. The farm includes cows; laying hens & their roosters; goats & their kids; sheep & their lambs, rabbits, turkeys; miniature donkeys and Tamworth pigs. Aside from the animals we have vegetable, community and children’s gardens; and exceptional year-round educational programs.
Whether participating in educational programs or volunteer farm days, or simply stopping by, everyone is welcome to take part in the life of Terra Firma Farm and learn the importance of the local agriculture & community.
