Terrace was built in 1955. Before Terrace was built, there was a school in front of Natural High which was called Lakeport Elementary. That's where kids from kindergarden through eighth grade went to school before Terrace. After finishing Lakeport Elementary they headed up to the old high school, which was where Del Lago is now. They didn't build Clear Lake High until the late 1960's, but they had to knock down both the elementary and the high school for safety reasons because the buildings weren't earthquake proof. When Terrace was built only 70-80 kids came to school at Terrace. At the time there was only three teachers per grade and there was only 7th and 8th grade so the classes where very large. They had at least 20-30 kids per class. At the time 6th was still downtown at the elementary. Its amazing to know that this school is almost over 50 years old.
