Several musicians in town started out with a dream to make Mount Ida a music center for both musician and listener alike. Five years ago it all started with Jam sessions on the Court House Square. Folks would bring their lawn chairs and come together to play and sing. They also do a lot of visiting in between songs. As time went on, the crowds grew and three years ago the Saturday night concerts were started. Bands come from Oklahoma, Hot Springs, Mena and down the road, to play and have a good time. Folks play on the FrontPorch because it’s fun. We "pass the hat" for donations to help the bands with their expenses.Bring your Family and Friends! Bring your lawnchairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of Free Music in a great peaceful atmosphere. Come early and enjoy some fine pickin'! If you play bring your instrument and join in. You're always welcome at the FrontPorch.Our Back Porch Snack Bar is open before and during our free concerts.All proceeds from the Back Porch goes to support and improve the Front Porch. We are looking forward to yet another great year in down town Mount Ida. Possums Unlimited is sort of our version of Ducks Unlimited seein's how we ain t got no ducks.
