Goddard Center Mission Statement

To encourage and support participation, education, and enjoyment of visual and performing arts by all and to support the advancement of excellence of cultural activities in the area.

Located in Ardmore, Oklahoma, The Charles B. Goddard Center for the Visual and Performing Arts was established in 1970 in memory of Charles B. Goddard by his wife, Ethel Goddard.

The Center is committed to  providing cultural experiences and art education for residents of South-Central Oklahoma. The Center includes a visual arts museum, a performing arts theatre with a professional film projection system, a sculpture garden, and an art studios facility. The Art Studios offers hands-on, project-based instruction to youth, adults, and seniors. The Center is a member of the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce and works with the City of Ardmore, Ardmore Tourism Board, Ardmore Development Authority, and Main Street Authority to provide quality cultural programs to the community. The Goddard Center's Primary Board and staff are strongly committed to developing strategies to serve those populations in our community traditionally identified as underserved.

Programs supported by the Goddard Center's operating budget include touring exhibits, touring performances, educational lectures and demonstrations, hands-on art instruction, and an Outreach Program that serves populations identified as underserved.

The Goddard Center's Art Education Outreach Program was established specifically to ensure we fulfill our artistic goal of serving all populations in our community, and is part of the Primary Board's strategic plan.
