As young children, even before we walk, we will bounce and sway to music. As Liljan Espenak wrote, "Dance is older than education, and more universal, as any child instinctively knows." You will gain physical strength form doing dance exercises regularly. You will be concentrating on particular movements and building coordination in your muscles. As you work to improve your body's movements, you will be stretching your muscles, building flexibility and grace. You will also have to remember what you are doing and why. Dance cannot be done with part of your attention. As you develop your technique, the special quality that you have will appear magical.
