To: All Caroline County High School, Middle School, Elementary Students and siblings,

 

 

 

The Director, Instructor and Founder of the Spotsylvania Co. Sparkettes would like to invite you to take the time to look over this information and consider the opportunity to have fun, learn how to twirl, march, dance and use your gymnastics' skills to join her new group in August 2009. There will be lots of PARADES AND COMPITITIONS ALL OVER THE STATE OF VIRGINIA, MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, OHIO, INDIANA, AND THE BAHAMAS TO NAME A FEW.   You don't have to attend all events, however; we won't have a group if the participation of each member isn't upheld.   Ms. Sharon Grantz is extending her group throughout the surrounding counties so each and every child that would like to twirl has that chance.  As well, enlarge her present group The Spotsylvania Sparketts and turn it into the TRI-COUNTY SPARKETTES.  She is also in the process of starting a group in Orange County Va. as well. 

 

 

 

We are eager to start up this new program in your area.  Practice will be once a week.  Once we have at least 10 people interested in the group AND HAVE SIGNED UP Ms. Sharon Grantz will pick a date and time for orientation to go over all the rules and regulations, day of practice each week, etc. Uniform information and what age groups you will be placed in will also be discussed at that time.  The practices will be held at Ladysmith Elementary in Ladysmith Va. or the Old Bowling Green High School on Rt. 2 in Bowling Green Va. Where the Liberty is located.  THE COST for the baton lessons are $40.00 per month. The children will also need a baton.  They can cost $15.00 to $50.00 depending on your choice of baton age group.  We do have used uniforms that may be purchased.  And a New uniform can be made for your child as well.  There is one uniform needed for each child and a winter uniform that consists of sweat pants, sweat shirt, and a turtleneck.  Ms. Grantz will be able to go over all of this in more detail at the orientation in August 2009. 

 

 

 

Once I have gotten 10 children signed up Ms. Grantz and I will get together and set up a date and time for orientation, as well as when and where the practices will be held each week. 

 

 

Along with Ms. Grantz great experience she has a great team of coaches behind her.

 

 

 

Mrs. Mary Ross is our dance instructor and brings with her the great knowledge of the Royal Ballet Company from London England.   And is one of the groups' uniform makers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ms. Kristy Powell of Spotsylvania and the daughter of Ms. Grantz was an advanced twirler and has won numerous State and National titles.  She has years of ballet, tap and has been in musical theater.  And is in the process of getting her National Baton Twirling Association judge's license.   

 

 

 

Mrs. Christy Simonds has been twirling since she was 13 years old with Ms. Grantz, and is still twirling with the group.  She has won several State and National titles and has placed in the top ten twirlers in the National Baton Twirling and World Championship in Notre Dame Indiana.  She also makes uniforms.

 

 

 

Miss. Kathleen Rockis started twirling for Ms. Grantz five years ago while in High School.  She is the feature twirler for the Sparkettes and Germanna Community Collage at this time.  She has won State titles, and placed in the top ten twirlers in the National Baton Twirling and World Championship in Notre Dame Indiana.

 

 

 

With all the great experience Ms. Grantz brings with her, we will have a great team in Caroline County.
