Town Of Thompson

815 Riverside Drive
860-923-9561

Thompson is a historic community found in the very northeast corner of Connecticut. We have a strong commitment to our future and look forward to your inquiries and visits. In Thompson you'll find a unique blend of classic examples of Federal Gothic and Greek Revival homes along with mill village housing that features “Bosses Houses” as well as workers tenements. The “gem” of the town is the Historic Thompson Common, where militias trained from the time of the French and Indian War until disbanded by the State Legislature in the mid 1800s.

In Thompson a visitor can enjoy our municipal and State Parks, a state of the art Library and Community Center as well as the historic and still very active Thompson International Speedway.

Because of our location we are at an advantage to business. Our town is 50 miles from Hartford, 30 miles from Providence and 25 miles from Worcester. We are served by I-395 and are part of the Eastern Connecticut Enterprise Corridor. This is a program that provides for abatement of local property taxes, cooperate business taxes and offers grants for the creation of new full time jobs.
