Town Of Woodstock

415 Route 169
860-928-6595

Woodstock is a beautiful town located in the northeastern corner of Connecticut that captures the typical New England charm. It has rich rural character and a large agricultural community. The desire of most of the 7,750 residents is to maintain this environment. Because of its proximity to many major cities and the advent of technology, Woodstock's population and construction are increasing quickly. To protect Woodstock from growing too fast and losing what most of us treasure, the town's people spoke in overwhelming support to preserve open space and farmlands.

With a low crime rate and three fine schools, Woodstock Elementary School, Woodstock Middle School and Woodstock Academy, Woodstock is a great place to raise a family. Woodstock takes pride in the efforts made by the community to maintain its' scenic and rural character.

While support for open spaces and the farming community is strong, the town also encourages light manufacturing and welcomes small businesses.

There are well diversified organizations and activities in Woodstock. Athletics, Historical Society, Garden Club and Senior Citizen programs are among them.
Woodstock's nearly 70 square miles provides ample space for parks, golf courses, beaches, horseback riding, summer camps and camp grounds.

Specially promoted events are always fun. Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day, Fourth of July Jamboree on the green in East Woodstock on the fourth, the Woodstock Fair held Labor Day Weekend,

The Arts & Crafts Festival at Roseland Cottage held the weekend after Columbus day each year and summer evening concerts have been popular for many years.
