About Us
The Turlock Unified School District began its initial school year on July 1, 2004. Prior to our unification we were composed of the separately governed, but commonly administered Turlock Elementary School District and Turlock Joint Union High School District. Other than now being governed by a single board of trustees and all of our employees being on the same salary schedules, there will be no significant change in our actual operations or services. Because of our previous common administration, we have a long standing tradition of close cooperation and articulation among our elementary, intermediate and secondary instuctional programs.
Our 726 teachers and 622 classified employees provide excellent learning opportunities to our 13,720 students. Our district includes one primary school, eight elementary sites, one middle school and one junior high school, two large comprehensive high schools and two small alternative high schools. In addition, we have a ninth elementary school currently under construction and provide one of the largest adult school programs in the Central Valley.
