Mission:

Founded in 1979, the Ukiah Symphony maintains a high quality orchestra, serving the residents of Mendocino and surrounding counties. We offer a full range of concerts, music education programs for young people, and performance opportunities for musicians. We strive to collaborate with other local arts organizations and expand our audience base.

About Us:

The Ukiah Symphony has been bringing cultural enrichment and beautiful orchestral music to the Ukiah Valley community for 38 years. It was founded in 1979 by conductor and pianist Carolyn Hawley who was also the choir director of the Methodist Church of Ukiah. The orchestra got its start by playing Handel's Messiah at Christmas functions. Today, we have more than 50 members in the orchestra who perform four concerts each season.
