Valley Stream Union Free School District 24 is a unique elementary school district. Our 1,100 students are in Kindergarten through grade 6. There are 346 students at Brooklyn Avenue School, 337 students at William L. Buck School, and 417 students at Robert W. Carbonaro School. Upon completion of the sixth grade, our students continue their education in the junior and senior high schools of the Valley Stream Central High School District.
Twenty thousand residents make their home in Valley Stream Union Free School District 24, which is located in the Village of Valley Stream. The School District also includes a portion of the Village of Lynbrook. The residents of the community have long supported its schools with their involvement and with their approval of our annual budget.
A District with high expectations for excellence from its staff and its students, Valley Stream 24 employs over 139 professional staff members and 87 civil service personnel. Educational leadership is provided by our Superintendent of Schools, Edward M. Fale, Ph.D. His administration includes an Assistant Superintendent for Administration, Director of Curriculum, Director of Special Education, and 3 Building Principals.
Valley Stream Union Free School District 24 is a forward-looking district that meets the high expectations for educational excellence defined by a population that includes many professionals. Our students are regularly recognized for high academic achievement and they consistently score above the average for Nassau County school districts on the New York State Pupil Evaluation Program tests.
