Vernon Historical Society
Vernon Historical Society Preservation effort began in September,
1998 with eighteen like-minded citizens. Membership, at this date,
stands at 53 and includes representatives aross the county.
The group's purpose is to collect, preserve and publicly display artifacts, photographs and documents which exemplify people, places, events, and manner of life and to provide historical information of Vernon and surrounding communities for the education and pleasure for everyone.
To this end, the old City firehouse has been donated to the Society by the City of Vernon by which we can display artifacts from times past. An annual Spring Exhibit is on schedule and a Heritage Festival is held each fall to raise funds for the current preservation projec
