About Us:
Founded in 1816 by Lawrence Myers, Sunbury was a thriving stagecoach town from 1820-1873 because of its strategic location at the intersection of two major stagecoach routes. With major state routes such as 3 and 61 and U.S. Route 36/State Route 37 all converging at Sunbury, the Village remains an active, vibrant hub today.
Embracing strong family values, the Village is the heart of the Big Walnut community. Many wonderful and exciting family-oriented activities occur year-round on the Village's quaint, historic square such as parades and flea markets. The Village is a destination from across Ohio because it is the home to numerous antique stores.
