Wayne Elementary is a K-6 school with high academic standards with an emphasis on differentiating instruction for all students. Wayne has a cross categorical classroom to help serve our special needs children. The resource room teacher and tutor spend most of their time providing inclusionary instruction in the regular classroom. Wayne also houses the district grades 4-6 behavior unit

Wayne Elementary has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education for proficiency improvement in grades 4 and 6. In 2002, Wayne was pronounced an effective school by passing 8 of the 10 elementary indicators. Wayne is in their fifth year of an “Ohio Reads” initiative to improve reading instruction using the four blocks method. We also have an outstanding volunteer group who work daily with children. The College of Wooster, Wooster High School, and the Wayne County Schools Career Center also provide us with aspiring students who also help our kids.
