It is the business community at work. It is the enthusiastic business, industrial/professional people and citizens of Weed, bonded together, to promote the expansion and civic welfare of the city in which they have chosen to live and make their livelihoods.
Your Chamber of Commerce exists today for the same reason it was founded in 1953 — "No one person could possibly do the job that this group, your Chamber of Commerce, can and does do for the business, industrial/professional and citizens of your community."
The Chamber focuses its efforts on three major areas: Visitors, economic growth and fulfilling the needs of our community. We strive to develop community alliances with the City of Weed, our community college, and various service organizations in the state and county.
While it represents business and the professions, it is essentially an organization of men and women who know the wisdom of coordinating their efforts under effective leadership for the civic, industrial and commercial advancement of the community.
By coordinating the efforts of every individual, or group of individuals, toward the common purpose of "building a better Weed." No city was ever built by one person; it takes the correlated efforts of many. Weed is expanding in size, in business and in good living but it is not the result of any single person. In fact, in these rapidly changing times, a few persons can not do it. It will take the combined enthusiasm and efforts of every business and professional person in Weed to maintain our position.
Your Chamber of Commerce is supported by membership investments, not by donations. They are necessary investments in the future of your community and your business, and they are recognized as such when listed as a business expense on your income tax return. No other business investment will pay such large dividends as the one that helps guarantee a comfortable future.
Every house needs a front door! Your Chamber of Commerce is the front door to your community. Detailed civic information is given out personally, by telephone and correspondence to residents, newcomers, visitors and new business prospects. These are the people who will patronize your business. In addition to servicing committees, which are the means of delivering an ever-expanding program of work, the Chamber of Commerce office and staff are available as coordinating elements for the unification of the organized efforts of the entire community.
Everyone! Businesses as well as citizens are eligible and should be members of the Weed Chamber of Commerce. The rare exception is that which is not ethical or legitimate.
