Wellsprings is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and registered with the Oregon Department of Education as an approved alternative school. Founded in 1994 by members of the Eugene Friends Meeting, Wellsprings is a non-sectarian school educating 60-65 students each year most of whom are referred by public school districts in
Wellsprings Friends School is an independent, non-profit alternative high school serving primarily at-risk youth who reside in Eugene and surrounding areas. The school's mission is "to provide alternative learning approaches, supportive community, and a culture of individual affirmation, in which teenagers are mentored and assisted towards meeting the challenges of adolescence and adulthood."
