Borrowing-If you are a Wethersfield resident you may have a library card. All we need is identification showing your Wethersfield address, and if you are younger than ninth grade, a parent or guardian to sign the form. This card can be used to borrow materials at the Wethersfield Public Library, or most other public libraries in Connecticut. If you live in another town, your hometown library card can be used in Wethersfield.

Resources-Our collection is for people of all ages, from picture books for the very young to large print books for those with vision problems. We have books, videocassettes, magazines, audio cassettes, records, newspapers, CD Rom, and framed art prints. Seasonally we have free passes to local museums and tourist attractions which may be borrowed by town residents. We have a reference department where you may use atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and many other books or online sources. We also make available a regional computerized card catalog and information database called CONNECT, which can be used on one of our nine terminals in the library or from your own home or office computer.

Programs-We have story hour, craft, and entertainment programs for young people, and programs on current topics, history, and literature for adults in our meeting room. we deliver books to residents who are homebound. We have varied exhibits in our display space inside and outside the building.

Library Facilities-In addition to space for adults and children to browse, read, and study, our Library has a meeting room which may be used by local non-profit organizations. Our inside and outside display cases may be booked by local organizations and individuals for non-commercial displays when they are not in use for Library displays. The Library is accessible to people with handicaps.
