White River Valley Sportsmen’s Association Inc. was started at Holiday Island AR in 1975 and became a nonprofit corporation the same year. The club held social and shooting activities at several locations within Holiday Island. In 1978 the club opened a trap range at a location adjacent to Holiday Island on Highway 23 north. In 1979 the club receives a donation of 40 acres that includes the trap range location and two buildings. These buildings were located on the point across from the present marina location.  They are moved to the 23 north location and made into a clubhouse. 

In 1986 Tom Dees (Holiday Island Manager) deeds the present location to the club.   The 23 north location is traded for the present location and a club house and a trap range are built. 

In 2001 the pistol range is excavated, and a patio is added to the clubhouse. In 2006 the firing line on the pistol range is paved and covered.
