Vision:
The Williamson County schools provide an engaging and academically enriching environment designed to support the collaborative educational efforts of teachers, students, staff, and community.

The schools and the central office are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Approximately 50% of the professional employees have attained an educational level of a Master's Degree or higher. Approximately 50% of the professional employees are on Career Ladder Levels II or III. The WCSS earned the Governor's A+ Award for Education in 1992, 1993 and 1994; the program was discontinued by the State in 1995.

Williamson County Schools is a K ‘12 school district with approximately 25,530 students enrolled for the 2005-2006 school year. Currently, there are 35 school sites: eight high schools, six middle schools, 20 elementary schools, and one K ‘8 school.

More than 27,000 students attend Williamson County Schools for the 2006-07 school year. A new elementary school is being constructed to serve students in the Southern part of the county, and a new school is being to built to replace Nolensville Elementary and to serve more students in that area.
