About Us
The Winfield Public Library was established in 1960. In 1970 the new (current) building for the Winfield Public Library and the Northwest regional Library was built.
Our collection of books (25,000 volumes) covers a wide variety of subjects. We have books for everyone and all age groups. We also provide a variety of other services. We have two computers for public use, laminating machine, copier, fax machine, books on tape, children’s videos and magazines.
We have one of the best genealogy departments in this area with more than 500 books and 240 microfilms. We also provide an excellent children’s program during the summer months, staffed by volunteers.
This library will serve all people of all age groups and is a beautiful addition to our town. It serves as an educational recreational and cultural center of our community. The Winfield Public Library is an added incentive toward attracting new business and industry to our community also a valuable asset for people considering making Winfield their home.
