Woods serves people with exceptional needs during all stages of their lives. Whether a child, adult or senior, the focus is always on the individual. Special programs of learning, working and leisure allow each person to enjoy maximum achievement and independence.
Respect for individuality always has been a part of the Woods legacy. A key to our success is the attention given to developing programs that meet the specific needs of each person. At every step along the way, the individual is treated with respect and dignity.
History of Care
For nearly a century, Woods Services has held true to its original mission: “To help each individual reach his or her highest level of achievement, whatever it may be.” Mollie Woods, a teacher of great compassion and vision, established The Woods Schools in 1913, a time when care and services for children with special needs were notably absent in society. The realization of her dream is sustained today through Woods Services, where more than 1,000 children and adults discover new vistas of growth and accomplishment.
A successful organization needs experienced, committed management to deliver quality services. Many members of our Senior Staff have a long career with Woods and have helped build it into the diverse organization it is today. Our success is reflected in the positive feedback we receive from regulatory and funding agencies. Our achievements are made possible by the support of a Board of Trustees. Their leadership is the driving force behind our commitment to preserving the excellence of our programs and the quality of the care we provide to our clients.
