Woodson Branch Nature School is a PK-8 Nonprofit, Nature-Based School located on 30 acres in Madison County, NC. Alongside the traditional subjects (ELA, Science & Math) we are a Farm, Art, and Forest school teaching the real-life and service skills of Agriculture, Art, and Outdoor Education as part of the core curriculum at WBNS. Our students learn how to grow food, create thoughtful, effective designs, and to "leave no trace" as they care for and experience the great outdoors. In general, we are out of doors more often than not. Following STEAM practices, our staff design the curriculum in real time. We keep a low student:teacher ratio of 1:12, and our graduates exit ready to enter the early college, or any high school they choose.
