South East Rural Community Outreach (SERCO) is proud to extend an invitation all to attend PREVUE  -the Launch for our new package tours program, featuring Lower Richland Heritage Corridor sites, and supported by the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports and Tourism. Guests will experience an engaging presentation by Jonathan Green, renowned artist and rice crop re-vitalization advocate;  view a representation of photos, documents and artifacts from the historic sites that will be a part of our tour options,  and enjoy a delicious lunch, offering local foods prepared by Executive Chef Herbert Sims of Gadsden, and Chef J. Adams of Hopkins. Staff from the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports and Tourism will be present to discuss their roles of educating potential visitors of the area’s attributes, and promoting tourism. Also, the Historic Harriet Barber House, built by ex-slaves in the 1880’s, will be open for tours. The event will be held at 116 Barberville Loop, Hopkins, SC 29061, on Saturday, April 25, 2015, 12:00 Noon -3:00 p.m.

 

The cost is $20.00 for Lunch and Charter Bus Transportation ($12.00 – Lunch, only -limited spaces). The Bus departs Columbia at 11:00 a.m. from the Gervais Street/Millwood Avenue parking lot (First Nazareth Baptist Church), and at 11:30 a.m. from the Big Lots parking lot, Garners Ferry Road (across from the VA Hospital).
