Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Gives Spiritual Strength, Inward Grace Our Lady of the Lake Parish invites all those suffering from serious ailments, those facing surgery, and those experiencing disabilities because of age or illness to attend the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Mass on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is administered to bring spiritual as well as physical strength during an illness, be it physical or mental. This Sacrament is a sign created by Jesus Christ to offer inward grace and to offer God’s saving power for peace, insight and courage. The Anointing of the Sick, the seventh Sacrament, conveys several graces and offers recipients gifts of strengthening in the Holy Spirit against anxiety, discouragement and temptation. It gives heightened peace and a feeling of fortitude. These graces flow from the Holy Spirit. Signups for this Mass will be held at all Masses the weekends of August 4-5 and August 11-12.
