Dr. Adrian Strand is a board-certified family medicine physician at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Strand offers comprehensive primary care services for the entire family. Her areas of interest include adolescent medicine, migrant and global health, care of the underserved, and geriatrics. She has extensive expertise in the provision of care to individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds and those with multiple chronic medical conditions. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. She is proud to offer primary care services to the LGBT community. Dr. Strand is originally from North Carolina. She did her undergraduate schooling at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she double majored in biology and anthropology. After graduation, she obtained her Master's of Public Health in International Health and Development from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. She returned to UNC for her medical education where she obtained her M.D. She completed her family medicine residency training at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.
