In her clinic, Dr Alexa Fider-Whyte sees patients with liver disorders. Her areas of specialty include liver transplant, cirrhosis and chronic liver disease. As a certified nutrition coach, she offers nutrition counseling for patients with cirrhosis and chronic liver disease. She also offers ascites management for abdominal swelling and large-volume paracentesis — an outpatient procedure that drains fluid from the abdominal cavity.
Her research interests include management of sarcopenia and frailty in cirrhosis, optimization of nutrition in cirrhosis, and nutrition coaching in patients with chronic liver disease.
Dr Fider-Whyte serves in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
