Having a strong understanding of biology and chemistry in high school is where my interest started in medicine. Also having an older sister who was in medical school and would tell me fascinating facts about anatomy and physiology, lured me into wanting to learn all of this and put it into practical use. My philosophy of care is to "listen" to the patient. Giving attention is critical and also communication. If the patient can understand the illness and be part of their treatment, shared decision making is what really helps in my experience. Even with chronic illnesses it is with shared decision making and diligent efforts that disease can be treated and cured. Patients are very knowledgeable and empowering them with their care, is what I love to do. Mindfulness, in every aspect of health maintenance and disease prevention. My special interest is in Preventive Medicine." An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure" has always been my motto. Every visit that a patient has, I always try to make sure that the patient has taken all their required screening tests and vaccines and also are following a healthy life style. I love to spend time with my 3 children and our beagle, Daisy. Gardening, walking and travelling are my other interests.
