Dr. Rogers, M.D., FACS, earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia where he completed his internship and residency in general surgery. He completed a fellowship in Bern, Switzerland in experimental medicine and a thoracic surgery fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He then pursued further vascular surgery training at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Rogers is well versed in general surgery and laparoscopic procedures of the stomach, gallbladder, appendix, colon, thyroid and hernias as well as vascular surgery, vascular access and thoracic surgery. He is the director of the Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center at Piedmont Newton Hospital. Dr. Rogers and his wife Julie have four children. In his free time he enjoys gardening (he is most proud of his hydrangeas) and skeet shooting. He is very involved in many local community activities. As a retired Lt. Colonel , he served 22 years in the US Army Reserves Medical Corps. Dr. Rogers welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
