Gregory R. Anderson, MD, is a sports fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee. He is focused on getting patients back to the activities they love. From high-level athletes to individuals who experience joint pain in their day-to-day activities, Dr. Anderson’s patients span many ages and lifestyles. He believes effective communication is important in helping patients understand their injuries and treatment options to get them back on track.
Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Texas Tech Health Science Center School of Medicine. He performed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Mayo Clinic where he also trained in sports medicine and joint replacement from leaders in the fields. While at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Anderson was elected as an administrative chief resident and was honored with the Joseph M. Janes Award, a peer-nominated award for demonstrating excellent surgical skills and compassionate patient care. He then completed a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at the University of Virginia.
Throughout his career, Dr. Anderson has worked with a variety of college and professional sports teams such as the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Twins. He currently works as the head orthopedic surgeon for the Utah Grizzlies.
Outside of work, Dr. Anderson enjoys family time, basketball, football, golf, music, camping, hunting and fishing.
