I chose to become a physician assistant after working in the sleep medicine field for over seven years. I felt like I wanted to learn more, explore more and take care of more of the body than just the sleep aspect. After learning about the entire body, I could not imagine ever going back to a specialty and have found my home in primary care. My philosophy for care involves entering into a relationship with my patients that feels safe and allows for them to take the information I have learned and experienced and evaluate it with their beliefs, capabilities and goals to meet their healthcare needs and allow them to find trust in medicine. My approach to patient care is to allow patients to receive the healthcare they want and need in the scope of evidence-based medicine practice. Outside of work, I enjoy coaching soccer, running (trail and road), gardening and I am known for having a sweet tooth for donuts.
