Dr. Van Winkle sees patients of all ages and enjoys caring for the whole family. She has special interests in infant and early childhood care, mental health, and chronic disease management.
She received a bachelor of science degree in molecular biology at the University of Connecticut, where she graduated at the top of her class. Dr. Van Winkle earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina before completing her Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. She is dual-board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.
Prior to joining Community, Dr. Van Winkle practiced for three years at a primary care clinic in downtown Indianapolis. She has also had the privilege of volunteering and participating in health services research in Kenya, Ghana and Nicaragua.
When she is not at work, she enjoys chasing after her three little boys, spending time with her husband, hiking, cycling, gardening and watching college basketball.
