Dr. Michael R. Bisogno is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of hip and knee arthritis as well as painful existing hip and knee replacements. When possible, conservative, non-operative treatments are utilized by Dr. Bisogno to minimize the need for surgery. If the patient and Dr. Bisogno feel surgery is indicated, multiple approaches and technologies can be utilized to create a patient-specific treatment plan. Dr. Bisogno is trained in minimally invasive direct anterior, posterior, and lateral approaches for hip replacements. Depending on patient’s needs, knee arthroscopy, partial knee replacements, or total knee replacements can be employed to ensure a rapid and complete recovery. He is also skilled in the latest technologies, including the use of robotics and computer navigation for both hip and knee replacements, tools to potentially help ensure accurate implant placement. With a wide range of skills and techniques at his disposal, Dr. Bisogno can achieve optimal outcomes for every unique patient.Dr. Bisogno was himself born at Huntington Hospital and is proud to serve the community in which he grew up. He received a BS in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University prior to attending medical school at SUNY University at Buffalo. Dr. Bisogno completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital and then went on to complete a voluntary fellowship in hip & knee reconstruction at Northwell Health’s Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Bisogno is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has authored both research studies and operative techniques in numerous orthopaedic journals.
