I chose to become a physician assistant to have an opportunity to give back to the community and to help those around me. Being born in Pakistan, I was exposed to a lot of health disparities, poverty and inaccessibility to healthcare. This inspired me to do my part and help increase access to healthcare. I wanted to be a provider that people felt comfortable with, someone they could trust and build a relationship with. I wanted to motivate patients to get invested in their health and wellness, guide them towards a better life and help alleviate health disparities where I can. My philosophy of care focuses on providing patient-centered, individualized and compassionate care to my patients, considering the unique factors and underlying conditions that impact their health and implementing a holistic approach to their care. I strive to utilize patient education and shared decision-making to empower patients to take charge of their own health and make informed decisions regarding their care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling and exploring new places and cultures, being outdoors, and listening to podcasts and audiobooks.
