Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2021, Dr. Nocera completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.
Dr. Nocera is a proud first-generation college graduate. She has been involved with dendritic cell vaccine research for breast cancer and melanoma. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed publications, including the Annals of Surgical Oncology, the Journal of Surgical Education, Immunotherapy and Frontiers in Pharmacology. She has also presented at numerous medical conferences, including the American Society of Breast Surgeons Annual Meeting and the Miami Breast Cancer Conference.
Dr. Nocera is passionate about treating breast cancer because it allows her to develop lasting relationships with her patients by caring for them beyond their initial diagnosis. She also strives to provide patients with the most innovative and up-to-date care for their diagnosis.
Dr. Nocera’s approach to patient care is to ensure her patients are at the center of the decision-making. A cancer diagnosis is an overwhelming experience, so she spends time educating patients about their diagnosis and treatment options. She treats each patient as a member of her own family.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Nocera enjoys nutrition, weightlifting, exploring new food and cuisine, gardening and spending time with family.
