Dr. Robert Dring is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Hofstra/Northwell and has been a practicing surgeon at North Shore University Hospital since 2005. He grew up in Glastonbury, CT and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gordon College. He attended New York Medical College where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received his MD in 1998. He went on to surgical residency at the University of Connecticut where he graduated in 2004. He moved to Long Island in 2004 where he completed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at North Shore/LIJ in 2005 . Dr. Dring has co-authored numerous scholarly articles and has presented at national meetings. His clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery for both colorectal cancer and benign colorectal diseases including diverticulitis, Crohn s disease and ulcerative colitis. He also performs advanced colonoscopy and treats benign anorectal conditions. Dr. Dring is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
