Sandra Van Leuven, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician. She obtained her medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York and completed her residency in family medicine and preventive medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Van Leuven has a special interest in women"s health issues, wellness, and preventive medicine. She has extensive experience with birth control management, perimenopause and menopause, IUD insertion and removal, endometrial biopsy, and abnormal Pap test management.In her free time, she enjoys getting outdoors and doing just about anything self-propelled, especially mountain biking, hiking and ski touring. She also can be found traveling, gardening, and baking with her family.
