About Sara
Meet Sara Davis. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be in the medical field. “The intricacies of the human body fascinate me,” she says. “My aunt is a nurse and I deeply admire her. She inspired me, and there hasn’t been a day since that I have regretted my choice.”
As a nurse practitioner, Sara cares for patients across the lifespan—from newborns to older adults—with the ability to assess, diagnose and prescribe medications and treatment plans. She strongly believes in providing that continuity of care throughout patients’ lives, from well visits to acute visits to chronic conditions. “My overall goal is to educate my patients to help them prevent illness and live happy, healthy, awesome lives.”
For Sara, every patient counts. “Every patient has his or her own story,” she explains. “It’s so important to listen, to understand, to teach, and to learn something new in order to provide the highest quality and most compassionate care possible.” That philosophy is why she has remained with Beacon for over twelve years now. “What initially drew me to Beacon was the wide range of patients we care for. The team and the environment we work in is like no other.”
What does Sara hope you’ll learn from her? “I care deeply for my patients, and chances are really good I will be thinking about them after their visit, wondering if their condition is improving, or how they are feeling overall. I’m always looking to the future and what else I can do to help them live their best lives.”
In her own words…
Who is or was the most influential person/role model in your life? All of my family members have been influential in my life in some way. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic and a caring nature, and my husband pushes me to be my best self.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? Many of you that grew up in northern Indiana may be familiar with this – detasseling corn. It was a hard, hot and dirty job that taught me at a young age what it meant to work hard.
What is your favorite food? Movie? I love to eat at local breweries. My favorite movie is Forrest Gump.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? I am most passionate about my family. I have been married for 18 years, and we have a four-year-old daughter named Addison. I love spending time with them going to sporting events, playing games, watching movies and just hanging out at home. I also love spending time with my extended family, including my parents, my two sisters and brother and all of their spouses and kids, and all of my in-laws.
What are your hobbies, interests? My husband and I are huge Chicago sports fans… Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks, and we love to attend these sporting events! For those of you diehard Cubs fans out there, you will appreciate that our daughter is named Addison and our dog, a yellow lab, is named Maddux.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I married my high-school sweetheart. We have been together since I was 14!
