Dr. Kim chose to practice in internal medicine in order to provide comprehensive medical care. She provides compassion to her patients in all aspects of their care and appreciates the trust they place in her, a responsibility she does not take lightly. Dr. Kim especially enjoys the connections she creates with patients and feels honored to treat multiple members of the same family. As she states, “It brings me great joy to see my patients thrive. It means a lot to me that they select me as their physician. And I want to treat my patients as if they were my own parents, siblings or friends.”
She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with BA Honors and received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Kim completed her residency at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center for internal medicine, where she served as a chief resident for internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in nephrology. Dr. Kim has keen interests in research and participated in virology and clinical research at the University of California, Irvine, the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering and the University of Irvine Medical Center, with publications with her research group as well as her nephrology mentor.
Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time traveling, hiking with her dog and rediscovering philosophy and poetry she has reveled in the past.
