Shannon J. Potter, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who sees adults and pediatric patients 13 years and older. She provides annual well-woman exams, contraception counseling and family planning, gynecology surgical consultations, menopause management and prenatal and postpartum care. She treats a wide range of conditions, including abnormal uterine bleeding, bladder incontinence, pelvic floor disorders, uterine fibroids and vulvar skin conditions.
Dr. Potter takes care of her patients holistically, providing comprehensive and preventive health services. She has a deep understanding of women's care. Her work in several African countries has given her a wide range of surgical experience and a unique understanding of diverse cultures. Additionally, Dr. Potter volunteers annually to help women with childbirth injuries in Africa and is fluent in French.
Dr. Potter is an active member of a local chapter of "The MomCo" (formerly MOPS) and her church. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games, staying active, and going on adventures with her family and their dog.
Dr. Potter earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She completed a post-residency program in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Togo, West Africa.
