Announcing the first Annual Seaweed Festival on Lummi Island! Celebrate and promote sustainable seaweed harvesting and fishing practices with an array of educational booths, seaweed foot soaks, hot seaweed baths on the beach, special cooking demos with local chefs, a book signing with local author Jennifer Hahn, launching her new book, "Pacific Harvest, A Northwest Coast Foraging Guide." Food from our Legoe Bay Reefnetter, Food Trailer--Salish Sea halibut and chip, chowder, a beer garden and live music with The Atlantics in the evening. The event is being held in conjunction with the Lummi Island Artists Studio Tour.
In addition to touring the studios of our local artists, come learn about the vital role you can play in supporting health ecosystems with our local seaweed farming community, and making meaningful connections with local seafood producers and the food they provide.
