Mario Yñiguez is a songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and director known for his genre-spanning versatility, heartfelt craftsmanship, and holistic approach to creation.

Performing under Mario Why, as part of the band Harrison Fjord, and in theater pits, Yñiguez brings his artistry to life. His debut EP as Mario Why drops in Spring 2025, blending his musical theater and classical roots into a unique sound dubbed “baroque canyon pop.”

Based in Arizona, Yñiguez composes, directs, and teaches in ASU’s Popular Music program while running Oakhaus, his home studio and woodshop.
