"Dance of the Butterflies" Moonlit Evening

Come join us at the Crooked River Lighthouse on Sunday, May 11, in Carrabelle, FL. Festivities include “Dance of the Butterflies” performances, after-hour museum tours, a glowing bonfire, and evening tower climbs. Guests can enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings as the sun sets and the Flower Moon rises.

Admission is $10 from 7-9 pm and climbs are $5 from 7-10 pm. Mothers get free admission and free climbs at this event in celebration of Mother’s Day.

For this special Mother’s Day evening, guests will be enchanted by mesmerizing “Dance of the Butterflies” performances from 7-9 pm. The event will feature Butterfly and Moth dancers, including Tallahassee State College (TSC) dancers and the Monarch Butterfly Homeschoolers plus visits from the lighthouse’s very own ethereal Moth Lady. These performers will be surrounded by the soft glow of night-blooming moon flower lights, creating a magical and unforgettable experience. Admission for these special dance performances is $10.

Visitors can also have an after-hours visit in the Keeper’s House Museum and see the exhibit for the lighthouse’s original, historic Fresnel lens. Guests may also enjoy the glowing bonfire in the park.  Bring a chair and enjoy the evening.

Evening climbs are also available from 7:00-10:00 pm for those brave souls who are bold enough to venture to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse. Climbers will be rewarded with breathtaking views of St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach. Evening climbs cost $5 and climb tickets are needed due to limited availability. Climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Children 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Mothers Climb Free on this special Mother's Day Moon event.
