A Novel in 500 Words: Explore the Challenging and Wonderful World of Writing for Children with Jenna Beatrice. Beatrice will discuss her road to becoming an author of children’s books, the nature of writing for children, and how to get books published in today’s environment.
About the speaker: Jenna Beatrice is a children’s author, lawyer, and mother. Jenna, a graduate of Mahwah High School, earned a degree in literature and creative writing from Barnard College, Columbia University, and received her law degree from Fordham University School of Law. Jenna’s debut picture book The Loud Librarian (Atheneum/Simon & Schuster), was voted by students across the United States for the Children’s Book Council’s 2024 Favorites Award; named to Mrs. Laura Bush’s 2023 Summer Reading List; selected for the 2024 Redbud Read-Aloud Book Award Masterlist; and featured in The Washington Post. Jenna’s latest picture book, Annabelle and the Spaghetti-Confetti Surprise (Two Lions), was released this year.
