Artist Reception: Nancy Wolfe, abstract artist featuring a curated wall of works from her students at the Hannan Center in Detroit
Artist Statement: “My paintings are my visual connection to poetry. Instead of Words, there are shapes with color: in a relationship, in search of transparency, in search of connection, an introspective view. My work is formed by my intuitive nature. I work toward transparency by adding layers of paint on, or rubbing paint off to reveal that which came before. At the beginning, I take the lead, and then the painting leads me.”
